Celebrate The Small Things

I’ve been tidying out one of my writing draws recently, believe me it was long over due. As well as the countless envelopes, folders, paper and the odd thesaurus I found a heap of rejections.

For a minute or two I did sit down and read them, it was depressing.

Until I realised, although each one was saying that my work wasn’t right for them, it was also a pat on the back saying “well done,” the quote

The only people who never fail are those who never try.
Ilka Chase

sprang to mind as I was halfway though reading them. So now the rejections are in the bin, my draw is lovely and tidy and I’ve celebrated my rejections with a Cadbury’s Crunchie bar. Like Michael Jordan said

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

What have you celebrated today?
