A Write Fright

This weekend I was presented with a writing challenge….to write and then read the church prayers.

The writing of them wasn’t the problem, the problem was that after I’d written them I’d have to stand up in front of a packed church and read them out.

I don’t mind sending things off to publishers or even getting someone to quietly to proof read, but the horrific thing was having to see first hand everyone’s face when they heard it!

What was worse was that I hadn’t just roped myself into writing a prayer but Mr A, my eldest and my youngest as well, needless to say on Saturday night I was very busy.

I have to say it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, everyone was complementary, nobody laughed, gasped or exclaimed in horror at the content and it must have taken less than five minutes.

Is there a moral in there somewhere? I think there must, be if you spot it let me know! 🙂

  1. That picture is so funny, and fright alright, I’d have been petrified. Your prayers must have been answered and I’m sure everyone loved it. It’s a lovely story, and I’m sure our Teresa will be making notes, it sounds like one of her lovely fiction stories, but in real life. Glad you shared it with us. x
