Out And About

Today we decided to spend the day at the Midland Railway in Butterley,

The children loved riding on the steam train from Butterley to Swanwick junction.

And seeing what a more modern driver’s carriage looked like, both me and my eldest agreed it looked a little bit space ship like with all the buttons and levers.

The train museum was fascinating with a few of the old royal carriages on show, including one King George used to travel in.

Its been a quite week on the writing front though. I have to confess I do struggle to find the time when it’s the school holidays with busier days and later bed times.

I think a timetable for next week might be in order šŸ™‚ IĀ  do love a good time-table

Do the school holidays affect your writing time?

  1. It looks like a fab day out!

I can’t believe we’re halfway through already – the school holidays are rushing past too fast and I want to put the brakes on šŸ™‚ x

  2. I love steam trains, a lot of my stories feature trains of one sort or another…
Regards school holidays, my children are teenagers and don’t want to be seen with their parents! šŸ™‚ I do remember those days though, mostly with great fondness.

I tried to make the most of the time we had together, as I was well aware how quickly the days disappear, and before you know it they are leaving home, and making their way in life.

Its a good idea to make a timetable to fit your writing in. šŸ™‚
