When one door closes another opens. But often we look so long so regretfully upon the closed door that we fail to see the one that has opened for us.
The Sunday quote this week was quite appropriate after I received a rejected manuscript, a magazine acceptance and a dose of chicken pox in the house!
It’s never nice when your manuscript comes winging back to you. However it wasn’t all bad, there where a few personal comments noted on the back of the standard rejection slip which where very kind. I know when it comes to rejection slips though you do have to develop a bit of a “oh well” attitude towards them as they are inevitably a part of a writerly life.
As is chocolate which did actually help enormously. Chocolate aside I’m not one to be deterred I’ve already spotted a few more markets that are suitable, so it’ll be going back out into the fray soon.
Plus I’ve finally got a spot free child Hurrah! Well almost, it was back to school today in any case.
Maybe the quote for this week should be that one door may well have closed, but maybe some are just slightly ajar, and need a little shove to open them. 🙂
